Worcester Arts Committee Accepts Two Grant Reports, Approves One Project Date Change
Other Committee · Meeting of July 9, 2026
Worcester Arts Committee accepts two grant final reports and approves one event date change. The committee, chaired by Chris Michelotti, voted unanimously at its July 9 meeting to accept final reports from Music Worcester and the YWCA as complete, while flagging three other grantees — ACE, Mechanics Hall, and Worcester Roots — for follow-up due to missing photographs, a wrong reporting form, and a failure to submit the required form at all. The body also unanimously approved a grant amendment for Musical Inspirations: The Voices We Carry, rescheduling the project from June 2026 to the weekend of October 16 through 18, 2026, with no budget changes attached.
Treasurer Aaron Michelotti reported a projected remaining balance of approximately $34,000 after all outstanding obligations are paid. Michelotti told the committee that the Massachusetts Cultural Council has expressed full support for a proposed micro grant program, though a 2027 launch remains the working target pending advocacy with city staff and public education efforts.
