Worcester suspends 4th and One Sports Club license
Other Committee · Meeting of September 24, 2026
Worcester License Commission suspends 4th and One Sports Club for five days over membership and pricing violations. Chair Anthony Vigliardi and commissioners Sharon Fisher and Maritza Cruz voted unanimously to impose the penalty, with two days to be served October 15 and 16, after police found the Muskego Street club's door unlocked, staff unable to document members versus guests, and a happy-hour pricing gap of $1.50 between members and nonmembers, all barred under commission Rule 18 and state regulation 204 CMR 4.03. Owner Robert Giannisi, representing himself without counsel, said the penalty came "out of frustration" given the state of the economy but did not dispute the violations occurred.
The Worcester Fire Department's Lauren Martin told the board the club's entertainment license covers television only, despite social media posts advertising karaoke nights. In separate business, the commission approved the $50,000 sale of Greendale Pub to North Worcester Ventures LLC and granted Metro Convenience Inc. a new beer-and-wine license after owner Ashley Santa Maria cited 2,662 nearby housing units and 1,600 daily MBTA riders as evidence of public need.
