Commission Approves Indian Lake Dam Clearing Plan
Worcester's Conservation Commission approved orders of conditions for five development projects and ratified two enforcement orders against homeowners for unpermitted wetlands work.
Conservation · Meeting of August 24, 2026
Worcester's Conservation Commission approved orders of conditions for five development projects and ratified two enforcement orders against homeowners for unpermitted wetlands work. Chair Devin Canton presided as the board unanimously cleared a vegetation removal project at Indian Lake Dam after the applicant's team, led by Greg LaCroix of Power Corporation, raised the base flood elevation model from 542 to 542.4 feet. Commissioner Lindsay Nystrom questioned whether "16 parking spaces for 31 units" was enough at a proposed 28-unit apartment building on Goldthwait Road; the applicant cited a pending Planning Board special permit for a parking reduction.
The board also ratified a staff-issued enforcement order requiring a 142 Olean Street homeowner to submit a wetlands remediation plan by September 30 after unauthorized pool installation and vegetation removal near a bank, and lifted two older enforcement orders after confirming completed restoration at 262 Mill Street and 145 Newton Avenue North. Six other filings were postponed to a September 19 hearing.
