Worcester Arts Council approves six grant final reports
Other Committee · Meeting of September 10, 2026
Worcester Arts Council clears six grant reports and tables stalled minutes for lack of quorum. Chair Chris Michelotti and four members present approved the council's operating budget 4-1 and signed off on final reports from six prior grantees, including a unanimous vote on the Worcester Business Improvement District's report after member Alexander Monaco recused himself over his employment there. Member Kathleen Head pressed the board on what it was actually verifying, asking "is that the spirit of what this is meant to be," prompting a review that found one grantee's materials lacked a visible Massachusetts Cultural Council logo alongside its Worcester Arts Council credit before members located both logos in a submitted photo.
Staff member Meg said grant applications are due October 15; the committee nonetheless scheduled online grant-writing workshops for October 23 and 30 and is pursuing an in-person session at the Worcester Public Library in early October.
