Other Committee · Meeting of August 20, 2026
Worcester Redevelopment Authority delayed a vote on Luciano's two-year Union Station lease amid a space dispute with tenant 961. The board voted 4-0 to hold the item, with Chair Pitcher, Weeks, Pepper and Restrepo all voting yes, after staff member Peter Dunn said the law department needed to clarify liquor-license and lease boundaries around a roughly 30-foot strip of Grand Hall floor. A 961 representative identified as Obi said the tenant has invested "$1.3 million, $1.4 million" over 15 years and asked for shared access when Luciano's is not hosting events.
Separately, Mankiti Group's Caroline Kenney presented a Denholm Building update showing a shift to a 13 percent studio, 65 percent one-bedroom, 22 percent two-bedroom unit mix, with 175 to 187 total units under review ahead of an October 31 planning board submission.
