WORCESTER — The Worcester License Commission approved a one-day entertainment license for the city's first night market and cleared several bar ownership changes at its August 20 meeting. Chair Anthony Vigliotti led a 3-0 roll call approving the September 19 Worcester Night Market on Franklin Street, pitched by Holly Ashton of RICE as "Worcester's first night market." Commissioners also approved manager changes at two Mezcal Tequila Cantina locations and Green Island Oyster Bar, a clerk swap for Assumption University's liquor licenses, and extended 2 a.m. hours for Mexitown Bar and Grill on Water Street. The board denied a Summer Block Party entertainment permit for 23 Oxford Street after no applicant appeared, with Vigliotti saying "people need to show up." Several items, including the Italian American and World War Veterans post and Parcoup, were postponed to September 10.
