Worcester To Hold Overdose Awareness Day Event Aug 31

Worcester will host an International Overdose Awareness Day event on Monday, Aug. 31, the city announced, as Abby Kelley Foster Charter Public School earned a spot among Massachusetts' top 25 public high schools for the 2026-27 year, according to a new ranking.

The city of Worcester announced it will hold an event marking International Overdose Awareness Day on Monday, Aug. 31, according to a notice posted to the city's website. Additional details on the event's time and location had not been released as of Thursday.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Worcester Public Library's Main Library will host Office Hours with the New Americans Librarian on Friday, Aug. 21, at 10 a.m. in the library's Community Resources Office, offering drop-in help for the city's immigrant and refugee residents.

Also Friday evening, the Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts stages the 9th Annual Jazz+ Live, featuring The Love Dogs, at 6 p.m.
