WORCESTER — The Worcester Public Library board elected officers and heard that a social worker vacancy was stalled over pay. Stephanie Paschett took the gavel as president, Laura Miller was approved as vice president, and Roseanne Fitzgerald as secretary. Christina Andrinopoulos and Fitzgerald won the two Finance Committee seats.
Executive Director Jason Homer said the city Human Resources Department would not approve a grade 40P social worker post because existing city social workers are at 38P, about $3,000 to $5,000 lower. He said the website is about 30 percent built and faces a late-April accessibility deadline. The Friends gave $4,640 for programs, and the Foundation's authors event raised $7,000 more than in 2024.
