WORCESTER — The Worcester Election Commission voted unanimously to postpone action on relocating two Ward 5 polling places, leaving current sites intact through November. District 3 City Councilor Frizzolo asked the panel to move Precinct 1 back from Worcester Academy to the Worcester Housing Authority's Addison Street Apartments and to relocate Precinct 2 from North High School to the Southeast Fire Station on Grafton Street, saying he was never notified of the earlier change and that "I was never notified that that item was on your agenda." City Clerk Nico countered that the old Precinct 1 site could barely fit five voting booths and that turnout actually rose, to 128 votes this September from 107 in 2024. Commissioners cited the same data, with one saying "there's certainly no trend that we're getting less voters with the new location," before voting to refer the matter to the next meeting.
